Hello from a bustling and full North Country Camps! While the campers arrived just over one week ago, most of our staff arrived in early-mid June to complete various staff trainings and set up camp for an amazing summer. Take a look below to see what they were up to prior to the campers’ arrival.
Barry teaches a Wilderness First Aid course to both the Lincoln and Whippoorwill staff.
Dani reads the Whippoorwill safety plan, which details our safety policies and procedures.
Lincoln counselors work together to put up the tower at the Lincoln waterfront— a camper and staff favorite.
Alice, Ruby, Carsyn, Megan and Saskia set up soccer goals on the Whippoorwill field.
Alice and Nalani practice how they will teach guitar to campers.
Estelle demonstrates to staff how she runs the archery activity at Whippoorwill.
Gabe, Cian, Eric, Alex, Bryce and Luke learn NCC trip skills on their Lincoln staff cookout.
Hannah gets ready to canoe around Augur Lake with Estelle and Helena for their Whippoorwill staff cookout.
Staff have put their instructional skills to use throughout the past week as we delved into morning and afternoon activities. See a few snaps below. All the preparation was (and will continue to be) worth it as we spend the summer teaching campers the skills they need to excel in their activities.
Fizzy teaches kayak skills on the waterfront during morning activities.
Campers learn how to hold canoe paddles on land so they don’t get damaged, as we emphasize stewardship of our equipment.
